Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new in-app dialer feature that will enable users to make calls directly from the app without needing to add contacts to their address book, according to WABetaInfo.
The new functionality will introduce a floating action button within the calls tab, providing access to the in-app dialer. After entering a phone number, users will have the option to save the number to their address book as a new contact or add it to an existing contact card.
Additionally, a messaging shortcut will be available within the dialer screen, allowing users to quickly send a message to a phone number they initially intended to dial but decided to message instead.
This feature is currently available to some beta testers who have installed the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, with a broader rollout expected in the coming days.

In other developments, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to see all media shared in community group chats. This feature will provide community members with an overview of all images, videos, and other media files shared within the community, making it easier to locate and access shared content.
