On Sunday, Rohit Sharma wrote on social media site X that cricketers are being interfered at every step in their lives. Our every move and conversation is now being recorded on camera. Everything we do in private with our friends and colleagues during training or on match days is being recorded.
He further wrote that Star Sports was asked not to record the conversation, but still they recorded it and aired it in breach of confidentiality. Today channels are doing this for exclusive content, views and engagement, if this continues then one day trust between fans, cricketers and cricket will be lost.
The lives of cricketers have become so intrusive that cameras are now recording every step and conversation we are having in privacy with our friends and colleagues, at training or on match days.
Despite asking Star Sports to not record my conversation, it was and was also then…

Responding to Rohit Sharma, Star Sports said that the clip of Rohit Sharma’s conversation is from May 16, Wankhede Stadium. Rohit Sharma is seen chatting with his friends in that video. We have neither recorded nor broadcast any audio and conversation from that clip. That video was used only for the pre-show, but no audio was recorded on it.
Apart from this, the channel expressed its commitment to protect the privacy of the players.
At the training ground, Rohit Sharma said to the cameraman of Star Sports, “Brother, turn off the audio, brother, an audio is waiting for me, which Star Sports later showed on air.”
This is not the first time that Rohit’s private conversation has been recorded. Earlier, before the match against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted the conversation between KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nair and Rohit Sharma, which created a big controversy. However, the video has now been removed by the KKR franchise.
